We are truly sorry that several roads were in accessible during this inclement weather and due to this several folks getaway plans were interrupted. We do not refund due to road conditions. They had to pay for accomodations elsewhere as you were unable to provide them with another cabin. Winter road conditions and maintenance are not guaranteed. Visit Like A Local! Ask a question. If this had not been a sold out holiday weekend we certainly would have offered to relocate any of our guests to alternate accommodations but since we, as well as most of our competitors, were sold out we had nothing to relocate the guests to. They were given another cabin, but it had been closed up for awhile and was very moldy and dusty. By having to pay for two places to stay, your company could have seriously put this person in a financial bind and although the weather was beyond your control, you could have handled this better. We were in the same situation but through VRBO and thankfully the owner did not charge. Maybe this renter does not get anymore vacation time this year or maybe that was their budget for vacation for the entire year. None of our guests lost their money or were forced out of their cabins. While these roads are routinely maintained, they may be bumpy at times. We would and do make every reasonable attempt to contact any folks with future bookings and give them an opportunity to choose other accommodations and if none can be found that are suitable we issue a full refund. We would never force a guest out of a cabin if they could not do so safely and we have never charged a guest for being stuck in a cabin. They should have offered you another rental or a refund if no other rental is available. Don't want fast food. While our policy states that we do not refund due to inclement weather we did offer all of our guests an inventory certificate to come back at a later date and stay with us in the full amount that they paid, no penalty. If the other renter cant get out of the cabin then they should have put you in another cabin or refunded your money. We attempted to warn folks not to come to the mountains due to the dangerous road conditions and that they may not be able to get to their cabin and that in some cases the folks in the cabin could not get out safely.
